Completely restored. Dominion (Mansfield Ohio) made quite a few of these utilitarian and well made waffle irons in the 1940's after the war and into the 1950's. Very nice design with heat indicator, rectangular pattern waffles and griddles. Irons and griddles are removed easily for cleaning and /or switching from waffles to grilled cheese or sandwiches, even pancakes. Fairly simple design but rugged. Model 1218-A. Perfect size for toaster waffles. Black Bakelite handles. Sort of a wave design on the lid with the heat indicator in the center. This was their best family model at the time fairly priced at $15 in 1950's. Nice new wiring and heavy duty heaters. It will last a lifetime. Minor chrome pitting interior. The well around the plates is wide and there is a spout on the back were oil overflow can go. New 6 foot cord set. rewired, cleaned and ready. 660 watts, 120 VAC. It will keep the heat just right for cooking after it warms up. Unplug when done. Dominion Electrical Manufacturing Company was first started in Minneapolis in 1920's. It moved to Mansfield Ohio in 1935 then built a large facility in 1953 around the time Westinghouse also built a new plant in Mansfield, Ohio. There were and are some very good metal workers and electricians in Mansfield. (Its not only a prison town used in "Shawshank Redemption".)

Is it safe?
It will be as safe or safer than the original manufacturer when it was made. Many times it is safer since I remove and replace asbestos wiring and unsafe cords. Note: There are some items I no longer refurbish because they cannot be made safe. I check every item for stray voltage and many times it is too high so that unit is scrapped.
What does Restored and Rebuilt Mean?
It means its been re-wired with modern high heat resistant wire, thermostats re-set, gunk, grease, stains have been removed. Restored to original factory specifications. Cords and wiring safe. All components checked for safety. Everything back to very good to mint condition nothing less.
